H I S T O R Y
Then and now, VCEDA
has always stood for a prosperous future by design.
Founded in 1949 and rebranded in 1961 as VCEDA, the organization shifted from public funding to private support in 1974 to champion local business advocacy. VCEDA has spearheaded economic initiatives and workforce development, significantly aiding in the establishment of California State University Channel Islands and countless collaborations to shape economic policy in our County.
Today, funded through memberships and sponsorships, VCEDA has been reimagined as a post-pandemic force for rejuvenation, and as a vital advocate for Ventura County’s economic health.
